The Yoga - Hot Yoga / Bikram Yoga

Why Practice?

A hot Bikram Yoga practice acts as a holistic therapeutic tool to heal both the body and the mind. Yoga has been around 5 thousand plus years for a good reason! A regular practice offers benefits that greatly exceed those derived from the modern fitness club experience, which primarily focuses on the external layers of skin and muscle.

Hot yoga addresses the whole body and works from the inside out, restoring balance to both your physical and your mental bodies. With regular practice, you will absolutely be more toned with increased strength, stamina, and flexibility, but most importantly the performance of your bodies systems, organs and glands will greatly improve as will your psychological processes. As we abandon the 'no pain no gain mentality' of the fitness club model, we come to recognize that true health is much deeper than surface physicality and includes a calm mind, an open heart and enlivened spirit.

Most people start hot yoga to lose a few pounds, to escape the stresses of the day, to heal a wounded heart, to recover from an injury, or as a seeker embarking down a new life path.  While each finds that this hot yoga practice satisfies his or her initial needs, what keeps people coming back, day after day to develop a lifetime practice is far removed from initial intentions. What keeps us coming back is all that we often can’t put into words that makes us happier, more peaceful beings. This is the real purpose and primary result of a hot yoga practice; all the rest are just fortunate byproducts. This improved state of living is the magic of hot yoga. Amazed, we recognize the greater impact this practice has as we act from a calmer, kinder, more peaceful place, which touches every person we touch, every single day.

Our Director has enjoyed practicing just about every form of yoga and has studied with most of the modern yoga icons and masters.  Still, Cassie has not found anything better than a hot yoga practice as is a lifetime prescription for overall health. Hot Yoga is healthcare, it is about living longer and feeling better.

For all ages & levels of experience

The series of asanas or postures are challenging, fun and absolutely appropriate for all ages and levels of experience. First-timers join the same class as those practicing for years. Couch potatoes, athletes, housewives, executives, seniors, teenagers, people with injuries, and everyone in between, practice together in each class. Our trained instructors are adept in guiding everyone to find their uniquely ideal form in each posture. It's beautiful, it works and the energy is amazing!

We believe in the transformative power and amazing benefits of the heat. The fact that hot yoga is the most practiced form of yoga in the world, supports this. The heat allows us to work more deeply, to stretch farther with less likelihood of injury, to detox on a glandular and cellular level, and hot yoga, quite honestly, appeals most to the modern yogi because it brings accelerated results.  When you reach the final posture, resting pose known as Savasana, every single part of your body will feel equally touched and attended to and the calmness of mind and openness of your heart is so beautiful- it is truly magical.

Our Classes

Core Offering - Hot 26 (BIKRAM STYLE)
Our core classes remain rooted in a traditional 26 posture sequence (Hot 26) practiced in a state of the art, air quality and climate controlled heated room, slightly warmer than your body temperature.. The heat allows your body to stretch more deeply and safely, increases circulation to facilitate the body’s natural ability to heal and detoxify. The series is designed to build upon itself so that each posture stretches and strengthens the specific muscles, ligaments and joints needed for the next posture. It systematically stimulates the organs, glands and nervous system and moves freshly oxygenated blood throughout the body.

Private Instruction- our place or yours
Think of private yoga instruction as an investment in your personal yoga journey. New yoga students gain the skills and confidence they need to join group classes. Experienced students are able to target specific areas of the body, specific poses and work on personal goals to advance their practice. Concerns about physical limitations and injuries can be addressed and safe modifications can be explored to reduce injury and/or aid in recovery. Those who feel easily distracted or are naturally competitive find private classes perfect for deeper inward focus.

Our Workshops
In addition to our ongoing group classes, we also offer unique series and workshops to support our students, helping them find a strong foundation or deepen their yoga practice.   We offfer routine speical interest workhops in our sanctuary and are also poised to create a custom program for your group,  offsite at your location.  We love to incorporate special interest workshops on topics such as longevity, nutrition, juicing, meditation and Ayurveda; as well as programs for special groups including yoga for beginners, yoga for golfers and runners, yoga for back care and children's yoga. As the community grows and evolves, a complementary offspring of programs will emerge organically to reflect and support it, your suggestions are encouraged.

Yoga Facts:

A Hot Bikram Yoga practice is not about purshing ou or straining and it is never competitive. Hot Yoga is about taking care sensitively and listening to your body communicate to you in the form of sensation.
